Research from property agent CBRE has shown that available warehouse space is 59 per cent lower than it was at its peak in 2009.
There has been a 21 per cent fall since the end of 2012, leaving just over 20 million sq ft of warehouse supply in the UK. Yorkshire and the North East is the one region of the UK where there is a surplus of supply – but even here, CBRE’s research shows that supply levels are falling.
The research also shows that design and build accounts for almost 75 per cent of the take-up on new warehouse buildings.
