TfL urged to re-think congestion charge

The Freight Transport Association has urged Transport for London to reconsider the congestion charges placed on freight operators after plans were revealed to increase the fee from £10 to £11.50 per day.

The increase would be equal to an over-inflationary rise of 17 per cent for the freight industry, leading the FTA to call it a tax on deliveries when there is no choice but to enter the Congestion Charge Zone in central London.
