An intrepid team of Downton cyclists successful completed a 50 mile sponsored bike ride on Sunday 7 September, to raise money for one of our lead charities: Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Nineteen Downton employees and various members of their family and friends donned brand new Downton jerseys to take part in the race, which started in Clapham Common and ended at the sea front in Brighton. All of our riders finished the race.
Downton Director Kate Downton said: “Thank you to all who took part in this fantastic event, and to everyone who has sponsored us so far. We’re well on the way to smashing our £5,000 fundraising target, with over £4,000 already secured and plenty more on the way – well done everybody!”
Guide Dogs for the Blind provides a range of services for visually impaired people across the UK, with the training of guide dogs one of its key services. Downton has committed to raising £5,000 in 2014 to fund the training of a guide dog puppy for two years.
