The British truck market has shown further positive signs having recorded the highest number of March registrations in seven years.
4,977 trucks of 6-tonne GVW or more were registered last month, according to statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. This represents the highest March total since 2008 and a 64 per cent increase on the same month last year.
Most growth has been recorded among the heavy end of the sector (above 16-tonne GVW) where numbers are up on last year by 65.3 per cent. The only part of the market to show no growth at all is the 2-axle tractor unit sector, which is flat so far this year.
