Scottish MP calls for tighter drink drive limits for HGV drivers

Scottish MP Christian Allard has claimed that his campaign to set tighter drink drive limits for HGV drivers in Scotland now has the support of the justice secretary, Michael Matheson MSP. 

By virtue of the fact that people driving trucks need to attain a higher standard of training, alcohol limits should also follow the same principles, according to Mr Allard. 

Under Mr Allard’s proposals, HGV drivers would be in breach of the law for registering blood alcohol levels of over 30mg per 100ml.
