RHA welcomes Driver CPC bypass rules

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has reacted to the DVSA’s recent decision to allow drivers returning to the industry to avoid Driver CPC training; instead only sitting part of the initial qualification. 

RHA policy director Jack Semple said the change means that those drivers genuinely returning to the industry are not disadvantaged against someone coming into the industry for the first time. 

However, the RHA warned that using it as a method to avoid CPC training requirements could negatively impact haulage firms as well as drivers.
