RHA lobbies Prime Minister for cash to train drivers

The Prime Minister is facing calls from the logistics industry to deliver a cash injection to tackle the driver shortage. 

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has urged the government to provide £150m to help train drivers. 

According to the RHA, the national truck driver shortage is around 45,000. With over 35,000 existing drivers expected to retire in the next two years, the RHA is claiming that the shortage threatens to slow the UK economic recovery.
