Logistics still behind other sectors in attracting under 25’s

Research published by marketing agency Firedog has revealed that almost half the apprentices entering the logistics industry are over 25 years of age.

The report found that only 18 per cent of apprentices entering the industry are aged between 16 and 18 years old, with 33 per cent aged 19 to 24 and 49 per cent over 25.

The number of apprentices over 25 has dropped from 62 per cent in 2012/13, suggesting that the industry is beginning to attract more young people.  The report did note, however, that this is still significantly higher than the national average.
