Leave vote could help with driver shortage, says FairFuelUK

According to the FairFuelUK (FFUK) campaign, leaving the EU could actually play a part in solving the HGV driver shortage currently facing Britain.

The campaign’s co-founder Howard Cox said that while Brexit will not likely lead to wholesale changes to transport laws, a potential review of the European Union Directive CPC may have a positive impact on the driver shortage.

Cox called on the RHA and the FTA to petition the Government to take steps to remove “straightjacket restrictions”, as long as this didn’t compromise safety.
