Job prospects in transport industry hit 18 month high

A recent survey carried out by Manpower has revealed that job prospects in the transport sector are at their highest level for eighteen months.

The sector’s employment outlook now stands three points ahead of the national average at +9 per cent, having risen six points from last quarter.

Manpower has suggested that the shortage of drivers over the summer period is largely attributable to around 4,500 drivers each day being off the road while completing their Driver CPC.

For the survey, Manpower surveyed 2,102 UK employers, asking whether they intended to hire additional workers or reduce the size of their workforce in the coming quarter.
