Delegates from across the industry convened this weekend for the inaugural Quiet Cities global summit.
The event, run by Motor Transport, saw more than 200 individuals attend a two-day event in Twickenham, London.
Operators, logistics buyers and local and central government policy-makers discussed different approaches to logistics from several European and North American cities, and explored the latest low-noise equipment and technology.
Delegates agreed that deliveries in urban areas must change to meet the demands of the 21st century, and suggested that delivering overnight would be the safest, cleanest and quickest way of meeting demands.
