The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has responded positively to the introduction of new and improved mirrors for HGV’s, expected to be rolled out widely next year.
Following a ruling handed down by the European Commission, all new HGVs sold in the EU will need to meet a higher safety standard. This will mean being fitted with mirrors with a wider viewing angle.
Under the new rules, drivers must be able to see a larger ground plane area on the passenger side of the vehicle.
