Hammond replaced as Transport Minister by John Hayes

John Hayes, the former energy minister, has replaced Stephen Hammond as minister for transport, following Prime Minister David Cameron’s latest cabinet reshuffle this week.

As a result, Hayes – who represents South Holland and The Deepings constituency for the Conservative Party – will be responsible for freight and logistics, having previously served as energy minister between September 2012 and March 2013.

As part of the move, Hayes will also assume the role of shipping minister.
