Downton has become a sponsor for the Guide Dogs’ Name a Puppy, Change a Life campaign. Over the next two years through staff events and fundraising, we hope to raise £5,000 to help train a brand new guide dog puppy.
A Just Giving account has been set up for people who would like to donate to support the campaign.
The name for the new puppy is yet to be decided, so we are welcoming any suggestions made on the Just Giving page.
Downton is also supporting another Guide Dogs for the Blind Association’s campaign to highlight the difficulties faced by people who are blind or partially sighted trying to live full and independent lives. Called Stand Out for Guide Dogs, the campaign is asking the public to show support and ‘stand out’ by wearing high-visibility yellow (the colour of the iconic guide dog harness) when out and about in town.
Downton will be adding the Stand out for Guide Dogs logo to some of our high-vis jackets to show our support for this campaign. We hope others will do what they can to support this fantastic cause.
