Government to consider city centre truck bans in peak hours

The government is looking at ways of making cycling safer in urban areas, which could result in banning trucks from city centres during rush hours. 

Last week, David Cameron met with the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group to discuss the issue of cyclist safety on the roads.

Following the meeting, Mr Cameron promised to ask the transport secretary to look into the matter, and it is understood that he has approached the Department for Transport about the possibility of a lorry ban during peak hours.
