Government faces fresh calls for fuel duty cut

There are renewed calls for the government to cut fuel duty in the Autumn Statement, after FairFuelUK (FFUK) met with Treasury minister Priti Patel to discuss the need for a 3p cut. 

The Office of Fair Trading decided not to investigate the petrol industry last year, prompting the group to call again for a new inquiry into crude oil prices and forecourt pricing. 

In addition, FFUK have proposed that pump receipts should contain information on all the taxes incurred when filling up, not just VAT.
