A partnership agreement has been signed between the Freight Transport Association and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) which aims to support the logistics industry in improving recruitment and raising skill levels.
The agreement was signed at a recent meeting between the FTA and employment minister Esther McVey, which focused on the current issue of driver shortages.
It commits the FTA and the DWP to work together to raise the profile of vacancies in logistics with jobseekers, both locally and nationally. The initiative will also support work experience and employment and skills programmes to help jobseekers begin their career in the sector.
