FTA urges government investment to deal with Operation Stack

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has urged the government to invest in a package of measures to solve the issues caused by Operation Stack this summer. 

The government had previously asked Kent County Council and relevant agencies to provide details of what was needed to prevent congested roads and delayed goods when the parking regime is in operation. 

In response, a report requesting a £468m investment – including M20 and A20 road improvements, a lorry park close to the M20 and an extension of the Stop24 HGV park – has been produced.
