David Wells has been unveiled as the successor to Theo de Pencier as chief executive of the Freight Transport Association (FTA). He will assume the role from 1 May 2015.
The FTA opted for an internal candidate in Mr Wells, who joined the organisation in 2009 as finance and IT director. He has since taken on further responsibilities for the organisation’s vehicle inspection, training and tachograph analysis services.
Wells has worked for corporate recovery project Greenman Group, ventilation specialist Hotchkill Group and fan manufacturer Vent-Axia in a range of finance-related roles, prior to joining the FTA.
