FTA rejects plans for rush-hour lorry ban

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has rejected a proposal by the London Assembly to ban HGVs from the capital during peak times.  

The motion in support of the ban was agreed by City Hall yesterday as part of a broader series of measures aimed at protecting cyclists on London’s roads. 

The FTA challenged the plans saying that a rush-hour lorry ban was not a ‘silver-bullet solution’.
