The Freight Transport Association (FTA) believes more of the £500m funding pot to encourage the take-up of ultra low emission vehicles should be allocated to the logistics sector.
Currently, just £6.5m is set aside to help LGV operators use alternative fuels and low carbon technologies; the majority of funding is for cars and vans.
The FTA’s comments follow the launch of a government consultation on supporting the uptake of ultra low emission vehicles. The consultation runs until 10 January.
