Chancellor George Osborne has been criticised over suggestions that he may increase fuel duty in next month’s emergency budget.
FairFuelUK (FFUK), the fuel duty campaign group, has alleged that the price hike was under “serious consideration” by the government, and could be introduced as early as July.
FFUK this week asked its 1.1 million members to email their local MPs to demand that they vote against any proposal. It has been reported that over 11,000 people have so far emailed their elected representatives.
