The European Parliament has given its support to plans to build a network of alternative fuel stations across Europe.
In January 2013, the European Commission proposed a directive to ensure the roll-out of alternative fuel stations across the EU. Currently, the problem is that alternative fuel stations are not built because there are not enough vehicles, while consumers do not buy the vehicles because there are not enough stations.
The proposals foresee a minimum coverage of refueling infrastructure for electricity, hydrogen and natural gas for road transport.
