DVLA plans cuts to driver tachograph costs

The DVLA has confirmed that the price of a driver tachograph card will drop on 31 October to £32 from £38.

The reduction is part of a collection of changes that it believes will save UK drivers around £150m collectively over the next ten years, of which £3.58m will be from the new cuts to tachograph costs.

Further price cuts will be made to the cost of applying for a first driving licence (from £50 to £34), while the renewal of licences after ten years will fall from £20 to £14.
