Ahead of the upcoming abolition of the paper licence counterpart, the DVLA has launched its online driving licence checking service.
Drivers and operators are now able to view licence information such as penalty points, endorsements and driving entitlements using the online service, accessed via the DVLA website.
The platform also allows drivers to share licence information with their employer or a vehicle rental provider by giving them a unique code, allowing the company to check the driver’s licence within 72 hours.
The paper licence counterpart will be discontinued from 8 June.
