DVLA changes give third parties longer to view licences online

 
Third parties will now have up to 21 days to view a driver’s licence records online, after the DVLA extended the time from 72 hours. 
 
The industry has welcomed the news, however firms are still experiencing difficulties using the online licence checking system after the paper counterpart was discontinued last month. 
 
The Freight Transport Association welcomed the development, but claimed that further changes should be made -including the ability to check non-British licences online instead of through an office hours-only phone line.
