Downton to get on their bikes for Guide Dogs

On the morning of Sunday 7th September, a team of Downton’s finest will be pedalling their way from London to Brighton in support of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The sponsored bike ride will follow a 50 mile route from Clapham Common, south London, to Brighton, where riders will cross the line on Brighton sea front.

Our 35-strong team is formed of 20 Downton employees and 15 of their family and friends. A mix of experienced and novice riders, all will be donning Downton jerseys specially designed for the event.

The starting gun will fire at 8.00am, with the ride expected to take between four and six hours to complete.

Guide Dogs for the Blind provides a range of services for visually impaired people across the UK, with the training of guide dogs one of its key services. Guide Dogs is one of Downton’s key nominated charities for the year, and the business has committed to raising £5,000 in 2014 to fund the training of a guide dog puppy for two years.

Downton Director, Kate Downton said: “It’s great that so many of our staff, friends and family have joined together to raise money for such a worthy cause. Thank you to everyone that has been involved in the preparations so far – Downton wishes all of you the best of luck for the big day!”
