Thousands of young people flocked to the Cheltenham Racecourse this week to find out more about the potential careers that await them when they leave school – and logistics was high on their wish-list thanks to Downton.
Over 500 students visited Downton’s stand over the two-day Grow Gloucestershire careers and skills event, organised by Gloucestershire County Council. They spoke to seasoned experts from the Downton team about the opportunities available to them in the logistics industry, and learned about a range of apprenticeships and training opportunities that Downton offers to young people looking to get their career off to a flying start.
There was lots of interest in the Downton ‘Fast Five’ competition, where students were challenged to answer five quick questions about Downton’s iconic vehicles. Over 200 students entered the competition for a chance to win either a Samsung Galaxy tablet, or tickets to Gloucester Rugby – the winner of which will be announced here soon.
