This year Downton is proud to be the lead sponsor for one of the country’s biggest Easter events: the Highclere Castle Easter Egg Hunt, which takes place on Easter Sunday (20th April).
Highclere Castle – the home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon (and of the fictional Grantham family in world-renowned ITV drama Downton Abbey) has played host to an annual Easter egg hunt for the past seven years. It attracts thousands of children and their families every year, who come from all over the country to take part in one of the largest Easter celebration events in the UK.
The event is in support of Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices for children and young adults; a remarkable charity providing invaluable round-the-clock care and services for young people with life-limiting or threatening conditions.
As well as being the lead sponsor of the event and partner to Naomi House, Downton will be delivering the Easter eggs to the castle and awarding them to the intrepid egg hunters at the end of their search. We’ll also be running a competition on the day, with prizes for children and parents, and there will be plenty of Downton goodies up for grabs.
Bring your family along for a fun-filled day exploring the grounds of the castle and hunting for Easter eggs, and help us raise money for a fantastic cause. Tickets for the Easter egg hunt are £5 per person and will be sold at the gate on the day.
