Downton has won a new contract with Nestlé, becoming one of the nutrition, health and wellness giant’s UK haulage partners.
Under the contract, we are now handling around 10 loads per day from a number of manufacturing and warehouse locations, including Cereal Partners UK – a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills. We are collecting cereal products from Cereal Partners’ factory in Bromborough in Merseyside and the warehouse in Melksham, Wiltshire and delivering to supermarket regional distribution centres across the UK.
CM Downton operations director John Downton said: “This contract with one of the world’s leading businesses is a great success for Downton, and one which we hope will yield further opportunities in the near future.
“There are discussions underway about taking on the handling of further product lines under the Nestlé range, and we have already begun moving loads of Buxton mineral water out of Sheffield and Purina pet food products from Hams Hall. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with Nestlé through 2015 and beyond.”
