CM Downton Ltd were today joined by Wiltshire based training provider WTTL to present Downton apprentice, Tiana Harris, with her certification on completion of the Level 2 Traffic Office Apprenticeship.
At just 16 years old, Tiana made company history by becoming Downton’s first traffic office apprentice in 2014. Transport runs in the Harris blood with both Tiana’s grandfather and father being keen lorry drivers so it was only natural that Tiana should become the third generation transport professional in the family.
On leaving school, Tiana was keen to feed her transport passion with a certainty for her future unheard of in school leavers today, and so took measures into her own hands by making direct contact with the company to chase available opportunities. It’s this determination for success that has seen Tiana through her Level 2 qualification, with WTTL Trainer Jordan Rees reporting an above average standard of work that already surpasses a level 3 standard.
“Working in the traffic office can often be chaotic and fast-paced so the best candidates are those who are able to think outside the box. You need to have a real passion for the industry in order to succeed and we’re very lucky to have had Tiana knocking on our door – she’s done remarkably well and is a real asset to the company” says Transport Manager Jan Overthrow who has acted as Tiana’s mentor throughout her training.
The future shines bright for rising star Tiana who will now embark upon the Level 3 QCF Certificate in Traffic Office qualification.
