More could have been done for operators says FTA

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has welcomed the continued fuel duty freeze announced in the Budget, but suggests the Chancellor missed the chance to boost the logistics industry by not cutting it further. 

The FTA had asked the Government to consider the economic benefits of a cut to fuel duty in its pre-Budget submission, explaining that such reductions would ease the cost pressures put on businesses operating commercial vehicles.
