The allocation process for longer semi-trailers is being changed by the Department for Transport to allow operators to make use of the 1,250 allocations that have not yet been used.
The initial plan for the ten year trial saw operators being able to bid for a share of 1,800 allocations. Some operators are claiming that they could utilise more than the original share they were assigned, leading DfT to change the allocation process to allow the remaining 1,250 allocations to be taken up.
The cut-off date for this new tranche of allocations in 31 December.
