DfT hints at driverless HGV trials in 2015

The Department for Transport (DfT) has said that off-road trials of driverless HGVs could start within months, with the possibility of a full road trial later on. 

In an interview with Commercial Motor, a spokesperson for DfT said that the next phrase of research would start in March 2015.

The confirmation comes after a commissioned study into the use of driverless technology for lorries suggested that trials would be worthwhile.
