Despite the Road Haulage Association’s (RHA) FairFuelUK campaign to impose a cut to fuel duty, this week’s Budget has only committed to maintaining the current price freeze on fuel duty until the 2015 general election.
FairFuelUK had campaigned for a further 3ppl cut to fuel duty to encourage further economic growth. The group explained their campaign will continue. Commenting on the review, Chief Executive of the RHA, Geoff Dunning said: “While proving positive for the manufacturing and export sectors, today’s Budget brought little encouragement for UK hauliers.
