Connor Parsons first in line to be crowned Outstanding Apprentice

Downton has introduced an annual Outstanding Apprentice award for their apprentice who demonstrates unfathomable dedication and professionalism in their new career.

HGV Apprentice Connor Parsons is first in line to receive this accolade.

Despite leaving Sixth Form with good grades and a promising future, Connor Parsons ignored the advice of his peers and teachers to pursue his dream career as a HGV Driver, in doing so making company history as the youngest HGV apprentice and HGV driver.

At just 18 years old, Connor achieved one of the fastest acquisitions of the C+E licence on file and was driving 44-tonne vehicles unsupervised earning a full wage.

Since qualifying, and nearing the end of his apprenticeship, Connor has gone from strength to strength to become a respected member of the firm’s national driving team.
