Border Force unveils plans to reposition controls in Calais

In an effort to prevent long queues on the approach road to existing UK border control stations in Calais, the Border Force has announced that it will reposition the border point.

The work – expected to be completed by the summer – would involve moving the border point further towards the port, according to the agency.  Plans are also in place to create four extra lanes at the control point to deal with additional traffic at peak times.

The proposed changes were welcomed by the Road Haulage Association and Freight Transport Association.
