Leading UK logistics company CM Downton has been presented with an award by the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). The bronze award recognises Downton’s commitment to employing and training ex-forces personnel.
The company actively recruits service leavers through an Armed Forces resettlement programme and any service leavers who apply for a role will be granted an interview.
Downton’s Group Head of Health & Safety, Nigel Willis said: ‘We’ve worked closely with the Armed Forces for several years and a number of our employees serve in the Reserve Forces. We are establishing strong links with our local reserve units and with larger reserve units of The Royal Logistic Corps across the country in recruiting drivers and other relevant roles.’
The ERS celebrates employers who support those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families.
