Last month you may remember a story about a fantastic fundraising initiative by our very own Lisa Hough, from Downton’s depot in Shotton, who was calling for friends, family and colleagues to sponsor her to shave her head to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
On 6 February Lisa lost her lovely locks, but succeeded in raising a remarkable £1,650 for Cancer Research. Not only this, she also donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust; a charity providing real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
In response to the generous donations, Lisa said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all who helped me achieve my fundraising target. I’d particularly like to thank everyone from the Shotton depot who donated as well as other people from across our business and our clients too. It feels great – I wish I had done it sooner!”
Everyone at Downton would like to congratulate Lisa for her brave and generous effort in supporting these two incredible charities.
If you’ve not donated already, you’ve still got the chance to contribute to Lisa’s total through her Just Giving page.
